Cardboard Club | Artsters CREATE (5-11)

Master the Chomp Saw and turn recycled cardboard into your own epic creations!

Time & Location

07 Jun 2026, 10:30 – 12:30

Artsters, Unit L, Linwood Centre, Linwood Ln, Leicester LE2 6QJ, UK

About the event

Unleash your inner engineer in this hands-on construction workshop where ordinary cardboard is transformed into extraordinary inventions. Children will learn to safely use a Chomp Saw to craft their cardboard shapes, mastering the art of structural design and joinery. From epic fortresses to futuristic vehicles, this session focuses on "low-tech" engineering and imaginative play, giving young makers the professional tools and freedom to bring their biggest ideas to life.

These are child-centred sessions led by two experienced Artsters class leaders who are DBS-checked.

Adults are asked to drop off and collect.

WHAT HAPPENS AT ARTSTERS CREATE?

Our 2-hour workshops for children aged 5-11 aim to nurture their creativity through guided art activities, followed by the freedom to independently explore our exciting resources. Every child will have the opportunity to create their own artwork to take home, as well as learning art techniques to enhance their creative confidence.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO ARTSTERS CREATE?

Old clothes or an apron that children won't mind getting paint on are a must, or you can add an Artsters t-shirt to your booking to collect at the session. We will provide all the resources including anything they need to wash up at the end.

WHERE DOES ARTSTERS CREATE TAKE PLACE?

This session is held at our studio space at the Linwood Centre on Linwood Lane, LE2 6QJ. There is a car park at the venue, and ample street parking too. Look for the Artsters sign and use the buzzer to join us in Unit L. Enter the Linwood Centre and come up the stairs to the first floor, or there is an accessible lift for use if needed. Please bring all children to the studio entrance to sign in and out. If you need assistance or have any concerns, please let us know—we're happy to help!
